Throwback Pictures – India Trip 1

Cows and calfs at Raval
Calfs and Cows ar Raval, Uttar Pradesh, India

A throwback picture of my trip to India, 20th Nov 2018. This is at a place called Raval , the Birth place of Srimathi Radha Rani, the eternal consort of Lord Krishna. Its a small village located at about 25 Kms to Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, India.I liked this photo because it dipicts the simple and natural settings of a Goshala where Cows / Calfs are housed. There is a small temple of Radha Rani in the baby form and also small deities of Radha and Krishna. Just opposite to the temple is the garden of Radharani which supplies flowers and fruits for the worship of deities
The village is calm, serene away from the pollution and traffic of factories and vehicles. Time seemed to come to a standstill and I felt, its a perfect place to relax. I went around the small place marvelling the green crops, beautiful native trees, birds chirping. Unfortunatly, I could not stay for longer because we had few more places to cover before we head back to our base at Vrindavan.

The Story and significance of this small village is,

This is the place where King Vrishabhanu one day while taking bath in the river noticed a huge Lotus glowing with glodlen light came floating towards him. When we touched the Lotus, we was amazed to a beautiful baby girl inside the flower. King Vrishabanu had no children and he happily took the baby home.Everything was perfect about the baby girl, except that she never opened her eyes. They are always shut. Then one day, after few months, Vrishabanu hosted a party and invited some of his friends. Nanda maharaj came there with his son baby Krishna. Baby Krishna who was a toddler managed to reach the cradle of Radharani and touched her. Baby Radha immediatly opened her Lotus like eyes and looked at Krishna. So the first thing that Radharani saw was that of the form of Krishna. Its as if she had been waiting for this moment.
